My Little Olympians

There is a new family that moved into our ward that is AWESOME!!!! They are a military family and won't be here for too long and already we are wishing they would stay FOREVER! Her husband is leaving for Kuwait in February and will be gone a YEAR! Talk about a strong woman to be with her 4 kids without her husband for a year! Her daughters Tayloe and Caleigh decided to do a mini Olympics for a bunch of the kids from our ward. They worked SOOOOO hard on it! They had crocheted little wrist bands for the kids and they were the colors of the country they represented. Then they had colored little flags for the different countries and they kids waved them as they paraded down the street for the opening ceremonies. The games included torch relay race, frog jumps, egg/spoon race, water balloon toss, ball throw (shot put), swim races, biggest splash contest, and hopscotch. It was adorable and it really got the kids into the Olympics and excited for them. So it was even more fun watching the Beijing opening ceremony with our kids feeling such a part of it. Very fun! Thanks Tayloe and Caleigh for all your hard work!

I LOVE this idea! My kids have been talking about putting together a neighborhood mini triathalon for all their friends (but haven't quite gotten it done yet!). You definitely need to send these pics to Family Fun!!! Love it, love it, love it. Can I just say that Florida kids are gorgeous? Wow, talk about a bunch of model looking children!
