Soccer is in full swing again...

Soccer season is here again and Saturday the coach couldn't be at the game and so Matt and John Lopez got to stand in for him. The boys had a GREAT game. Half the team was missing due to Spring Break and so the 4 boys that were there had to play the WHOLE game. Talk about tiring! Luke came home and took a nap (and that never happens). Luke got a goal, Carver got 4 goals, and the other 2 boys each had one, too. They beat the team they played 7 to 0! Poor little girls. :) Amy always takes such great pictures...

A look at the past :)

Matt's cousin Brooke just sent us this video of them at Christmas time in 1985, so Matt is about 13 years old. Matt scored big this Christmas with a weight bench and a cool football game...it is sooooo funny to hear Matt's little country accent and see his cute buck teeth :) He always thought his family called him "Buck" because he was such a great cowboy and would one day ride bucking broncos :) he he he. CUTE VIDEO! Thanks Brooke!

Playhouse Progression...

I mentioned that we were getting a swing set/playhouse and that our friend Chris Dowdy is building it....the kids have been soooo excited and I have been even MORE excited! So here's the time line of what has been happening with it!

Here's day one with Chris and his wife Stefanie....

By the end of the day my kids had something to climb on...

March 18, 2009

Day 2 we had even more to climb on and it was tested by about 9 happy kids and it was approved by them!

March 19, 2009

Day 3 we had stairs so finally Gavin could get up by himself, and we had walls and a roof!

March 20, 2009

Day 4 we got the monkey bars!!!!! And he put up the rock wall but it doesn't have the little rocks to hang on to yet. Gavin thought it was the slide and before I could catch him he went sliding down it :) Luckily no broken bones yet :)

Today I couldn't find the kids and when I looked out all I could see was their sleeping bag in the playhouse. I yelled for them and all of a sudden all 3 of them popped up from the sleeping bag :) Gavin was being stubborn and didn't wait for me to grab my camera and wouldn't re-pose. It was very cute. Needless to say they are LOVING the playhouse and we have spent the last week outside all day. It is so perfect because I can see it from the kitchen, the living room, the family room, and I can go up in my room and see them and open my window and yell down to them if I need to! I am LOVING it!

Chris has to go out of town for Spring Break and the slide and swings have not come in yet, but the kids don't seem to care. It just gets them excited all over again each time he adds a piece! Fun stuff!

Matt had the idea to let the kids sleep out in the playhouse...since it was his great idea I let HIM sleep out there with them :) Emma ended up coming in the house with me.

They made it! Little did we know half way through the night poor Matt's back was KILLING him, so he came in and Luke endured through the whole night :)

Church Ranch Rodeo 2009

Well this year things were a little different...the USU Aggies played Friday afternoon and LOST and so Matt was sooooooooo bummed out, in fact so much so that he didn't want to dress up in his cowboy duds...so none of us did. :) So our annual Church Ranch Rodeo pictures are not very country...we had a great time though. (Gavin and Emma were the only ones that wore their hats...Gavin said he wanted his "Farmer in the Dell" hat....aka Cowboy hat :) We had fun watching Luke, Emma, and their friend Carver chasing pigs. The best was watching this poor little pig run for it's life, slip through a hole in the fence to get out and then the cowboys caught it and THREW it back over the fence! Good thing our animal rights activist friends didn't come along to this rodeo :)

A different kind of bubble bath...

It was my friend Amy Lopez's birthday and her husband called and asked me to take their son Cooper for the day so that he and Amy could go to the beach. Gavin and Cooper are buddies and so I was excited to have them together to play. They were so funny....mischievous, but funny. At one point they disappeared for a few minutes and I decided I should go see what they were up to. I come upstairs and hear my bath tub running. I run in to find Gavin standing on the edge of my tub. He had taken a vase that was filled with sand that had a candle sitting on the top and he DUMPED the sand all over in my tub and then started the water! I guess he was trying to help Cooper feel like he was at the beach with his parents :)

I got them both out and sent them downstairs. I got 2 bottles of bubbles and thought that would keep them busy for a moment. I was out on the grass and heard the boys chuckling...I turn around and find that they had DUMPED both bottles of bubbles on Gavin's little picnic table and then they were rubbing their hands in it and then they were rubbing their heads! So it looked as if they were shampooing their hair! So there you go...what a good babysitter I am, Cooper even got a "bubble bath" :) Those crazy boys!

I could never build a house...

So I have been wanting a swing set ever since my kids have been abusing my tree! Our friend from our ward is going to build one for us for a great deal...I just hope he is still our friend after this! I am SOOOOOO indecisive. Just ask Matt. He is SOOOOOOOO sick of me talking about it and stewing over the design of this thing that he doesn't want to hear the words "swing" or "set" anymore and I'm sure my friend is thinking the same. I have called him multiple times a day to change something on the design or bug him about something. And this is just a little swing set...I don't think I could ever go through the building of my house or I would go bonkers! Can't wait to show you the finished project! Stay tuned...
