Youth Tubing Trip 2010!

We took the youth to Rock Springs to go tubing again...I think it is going to be an annual event. It was a beautiful day and as you can see we had a great turn out! I love our Youth!

Luke got his Bobcat!!!!

We have had to miss a number of pack meetings and so at this recent one Luke got tons of belt loops: Soccer Belt Loop, Archery Belt Loop, BB Shooting Belt Loop, Kickball Belt Loop, Archery Sports Pin, Geology Belt Loop, and his Bobcat! What an awesome Cub Scout! So I had the honor of painting his face for the ceremony. :)

Karl the Buffalo

Gavin continues to crack me up...the other day our neighbors gave him this ratty looking stuffed animal buffalo, which I'm sure was in their Goodwill box on it's way out, but Gavin rescued it. Anyway after they gave it to him they said "What are you going to name it? It needs to have a tough name because it's a buffalo." Gavin thought about it for a minute and without any help to come up with a creative name he decided on "Karl". I don't know why that strikes me as funny, I just thought it was hilarious. That night at the dinner table I was telling Matt what Gavin had named his buffalo and Matt asked him "Gavin, why did you name him KARL?", to which Gavin replied "Because he didn't have a name!" Ha ha ha! He is so dang funny!

First day of school 2010!

Well here we go again! I can't believe I have a 1st grader and a 3rd grader! The kids got their father's blessings the night before school started. Then we walked to school together their first morning! Emma has Mrs. Aliberti as her teacher and Luke has Ms. Molina who is brand new to the school. So far they have had a great couple of days!

And of course Gavin had to get a blessing to....He was soooooo cute during his, he took it so seriously and held still and kept his eyes shut the WHOLE time. (I guess you can tell my eyes weren't exactly shut :)

20 Year High School Reunion....well TRIP that is...

This year marks 20 years since Matt graduated from high school. Man how time flies. Well he and his buddies decided instead of going to Bear "River", they wanted to go to a river in Montana and fish together! I will have to have Matt sit down and blog about the trip. All I know is he caught the biggest fish of his life and he now wants to move to Montana. We were relieved that he decided to come back home :)

It's so cute because anything Matt is into or if he gets really excited about something, the kids get really into it too. So Monday night we went to a nearby pond and fished for FHE (and we actually caught an 8 inch Bass) and then the night before Matt left on his trip he looked up all kinds of U-Tube videos of people fishing and he had the kids undivided attention for over an hour watching all these videos. By the time they were done Matt was quizzing them on what kind of fish they were, and they are now the experts on identifying German Browns, and rainbow trout. I should have been paying closer attention, now I have to ask Luke when I get stumped. :) Then the whole time Matt was gone the kids played "fishing". Luke would throw out a piece of yarn onto the carpet and Gavin was the fish. Gavin would hang on and Luke would reel him in and then grab him and struggle to get the hook out of Gavin's mouth. It was quite entertaining to watch. I just love how they look up to their dad sooo much!

Matt took some great pictures and it was so fun to see him so excited when he got back...

Here is our FHE Bass

And here is Matt's trip...

There he is...Matt's pride and joy, his BIGGEST fish! A German Brown that was about 22"-23" and about 5 lbs.
