Luke's first piano recital!!!!

Today was Luke's very first piano recital and he was AWESOME! I was so proud of him! He played Animal Band, and Waltzing Elephants. His teacher is a friend of mine from the ward, Colleen Potter. She teaches tons of kids from the ward, in fact she had to split up all of her students and have 2 different recital times. Great job Luke!!!!

Luke just before it was his turn...looking a little nervous :)

This video is kind of funny...people really weren't talking this loud while he was playing...Matt thought he was videoing the real performance but wasn't in actuality and so after everyone was done I had Luke play while people were visiting :)

Girls Night Out!!!!

Since the boys were at the Father & Sons campout then Emma and I had a night to ourselves! We went and got pedicures, and Emma even got her fingernails done. Then we went and rented the Wizard of Oz, went to the petstore to hold the little puppies, went to a baby shower for a friend from our ward, and then we went home and watched the Wizard of Oz in my bed! Emma LOVED watching it, she was so excited that she knew some of the songs :) Fun night!

Father & SonS Campout

Luke is so cute, this year is the first year that Gavin got to go on the camp out, and so Luke comes downstairs and says "Mom, this year it's the father & sonS camp out and not just father & son!" I think he was excited to have Gavin with them. I was worried because it was FREEZING last night, I was worried about Gavin getting too close to the fire, and about him getting lost! But they all came home in one piece! Hopefully I can have Luke and Matt add some to this post so we can know what they did! Here's some cute pictures...

I think this picture is hilarious...Gavin was mad because he hurt his hand or something and he REFUSED to look at the camera :) There are 3 different pictures where they tried, with no success, to get him to smile :)

Silver Spurs Rodeo is becoming a tradition :)

If we even mention a rodeo the kids go running to get their boots and hats :) It's one of the 2 times in the year that we get to pretend we are cowboys and pull out the duds...the other time is next month when the church ranch rodeo happens! The Silver Spurs Rodeo was a blast last year and this year it didn't disappoint!

Emma was a little moody in the above picture so I made my little cowgirl pose for her own smiling picture :)

And here is Gavin in true crazy Gavin form :) He is always cracking my up!

OK the next pictures I don't think you will be able to make out what they are of very well...but this was the funniest part of the rodeo! The clown was hilarious and at one point he brought out the "Ghost Riders". They were these 3 sheep dogs that had saddles on their backs, and on the saddles were MONKEYS! We are talking real live monkeys! They were herding these rams into a pen and it was the funniest thing to watch. They were holding on tight as they were getting bounced around. Talk about funny stuff! I wish I had a better picture! The kids have been BEGGING lately for a dog. So after the rodeo Emma says "Well now if we get a dog we HAVE to get a monkey!" Ha ha!

Oh yea I just found this picture off their website...

After the rodeo we hit the fair and the kids had a blast on the little rides. What a fun night!

Isn't this picture so dang cute with Gavin looking like a little trucker in his little cowboy hat!???!!!

Emma is a STAR!!!! I mean a flower :)

Today was Emma's FIRST play! She was in the Wizard of Oz with a little group called Magic Curtain Productions. She had 2 parts...she was a flower and a munchkin, or as Emma would tell people, she was a "midget". he he :) She was ADORABLE! She was so nervous and she told me she was shaking. She had about a couple of lines in the whole show. She said most of them so quietly and the other she forgot, but I think that's what makes it so darn cute :) Her lines were: "We thank you very sweetly, for doing it so neatly." and "Hi, my fragrance is the sweetest". AND the one she forgot, that she is kicking herself about "Look in the sky! It's her!"

It was such a cute little production! I am so proud of you Emma!

Field trip to Sea World

I swear the kids around here don't know how good they have it!!!!!! Now Luke's school class went to Sea World! It was such a fun day. I think my favorite was the dolphin show....or maybe it was listening to Luke scream like a little girl on the Shamu Express roller coaster.

I felt bad leaving in the morning because Emma's ears were bugging her again (more ear infections)...Matt ended up taking the day off and taking her to the doctor. (THANKS MATT!)

So at Sea World we walked around with 10 crazy little boys that were bouncing off the walls. We really only needed to stay with 2 kids each, but our boys all wanted to hang out together. Plus it was much more fun that way :)

What are the odds...

I think this is funny, maybe only a mom can find this amusing :) Today we had a packed day...Luke had his football game, and then we rushed home and the rest of us waited in the car while Luke went and changed his muddy clothes. He comes running out and then we were off to pick up one of my Young Women so we could take her to another Young Women's Winter Guard competition. I was so proud of my planning...we were going to get there just in the nick of time. When suddenly, as we are very close to the Young Women's house, Luke realizes that he forgot SHOES! How do you forget shoes???? That poor kid has been very forgetful lately...he forgot his baseball bag at baseball, his football bag at football, and his lunchbox at school. The only one we recovered was the baseball bag. So I shouldn't have been surprised at the forgetting of the shoes, but I had no time for this!!!! As we are one street away from the girls house I notice a garage sale. WHAT ARE THE ODDS of them having little boy size 13 shoes???? I drive up and sure enough there is a ratty pair of shoes for $1! SOLD to the desperate mom in the mini van :) Talk about a great day :) We were right on time to see Keriann perform :)

Valentines is here again...

Making Valentine boxes brings back memories of Elementary school for me...I love it! Emma wanted to make a snowman box and some how I convinced her to do this cute butterfly. And Luke's, well let's just say I am so excited that I won't be stepping on these little army guys anymore :)

This is Luke's Valentine party at school. His poor teacher was out sick that day :(

These are the beautiful flowers Matt sent me for Valentines Day! We went out to dinner with our friends Jessica and Mark Martinez to a restaurant we have not tried before called the Boston Fish House. It was a fun night!

Here are the kids valentines they handed out...I can't take credit, got the idea off the internet. I think they are so funny! :)
