Emma's dilemma

As Emma and I were washing dishes together, I was asking about how her day was. She told me she couldn't tell me, but that she would write me a letter. So she slipped upstairs and after she came back this is the letter she wrote...

In case you don't read Kindergartner here is what it says...

"I had a bad day today. One person stepped on my fingers, it hurt, ow! And someone hurt my feelings. So is that a bad day?"

I hate when you have those kind of days! Not only do people physically hurt us, but emotionally too, all in one day! Bummer. I asked how her feelings got hurt and she said that when she was first in line then one girl said first isn't the best and that last is the best. Bummer deal :)

Maybe I'm not out of sight, out of mind...

This is the cute little picture that Emma drew at school of her and me. That is so sweet that even while she is away at school with all her little friends, that she thought of me! I love that girl!

Happy Birthday Emma!!!! I can't believe you're 6!!!!

Emma, Emma, Emma....what can I say....she is the most precious little girl full of sugar and spice! This girl is such a determined, independent (when she wants to be), amazing little girl. I love her to pieces. Of course we have our moments of butting heads, but I think it's because we are both stubborn :) I can't believe she is now 6 years old. She is really 6 going on 16. She can be so helpful and I can give her jobs that would usually require someone older to do. There were times when Luke was younger that he couldn't get his water bottle open and as he is asking me for assistance, Emma leans over, grabs it and opens it for him. :) She learned to ride her bike without training wheels the same day Luke did. I don't think she liked that he was getting all the glory. So while we were at the park cheering Luke on, I guess she thought we were paying too much attention to Luke, so she took our wrench and took her training wheels off herself and started to learn right along side of him to ride and she mastered it in a day! She amazes me. I love to watch her at gymnastics, she is so coordinated and flexible. Such a fun little girl that gives me a run for my money. I wouldn't have it any other way, she makes my life so exciting and fun! I love you Emma. Happy Birthday!

She had a fun party at Broadway Gymnastics. She had about 15 people there and they were able to do all kinds of fun obstacle courses, a bounce house and jump into the "pit". What a great day!

Grandma & Grandpa Rose gave her these adorable dress up dolls. I will post the picture of the adorable dress that Grandma & Grandpa Gillespie gave her when I can get them off my computer!

Emma is very proud of the DSi she got...now she and Luke both can be couch potatoes together :)

Emma's Kindergarten Fall Party

Today was Emma's Fall party and it brought back memories of when Luke was in Kindergarten. They decorated little frames (which is what I got to help with), decorated cookies, make little necklaces, played Bingo, and pumpkins. I LOVE being in the classroom to see how the teacher and the kids interact. Emma is learning so much and LOVES her teacher. Then I got to eat lunch with her. What a nice day!

First day of school 2009!

Well here we go! The first day of school was great. Emma loved it and was so excited to just get started. Luke wasn't that nervous because it was his same teacher and pretty much the same class. The only worry was Gavin. He saw the kids with their backpacks and immediately got his out and wore it the WHOLE day! After we dropped off the kids he wanted to know where his class was. I took him to the gym and told him that was his "class". He bought it and went in with his backpack :)

Emma came home from school a little put out that she didn't LEARN anything and had no homework :) I hope she is always this eager to learn!

Emma's Christmas Party!

Today was the last of the school parties...this time it was Emma's turn. I got to help out and it was fun to see the kids so excited. They wrote letters to Santa, decorated paper stockings, made the cutest Christmas trees made of LARGE pine cones and they brushed a mixture of glue and shaving cream so it looked like snow and then they put on glitter, sequins, and beads. VERY CUTE! Then they got to make gingerbread houses from crackers and ate them as their treat. At the end of the day they put on a little program for the parents and sang Christmas songs while wearing hats, mittens, and scarves (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS over 80 DEGREES TODAY!!!) And then they had a gift exchange where they gave books under $5...Fun day!
