Funniest picture EVER!

I told the kids about when Gavin was a baby and he would be sleeping and I would tickle the sides of his mouth and he would smile in his sleep. Luke and Emma wanted to try the trick....it actually worked. So as I was holding her and they were tickling her I told them to hurry and tickle her and then move away and I would try to capture her smile on the camera....I think we were successful, what do you think??????? Ha ha ha! This picture doesn't even seem real! It is hilarious!!!!

We're going home!!!!

Monday morning Gavin and Matt came back to the hospital to pick Eva and me up. I think Gavin really enjoyed his alone time with Eva, he didn't have to fight off anyone to hold her :) After hours of waiting we finally got to go HOME!!!!

Gavin even got to hold Eva for her last check up with the nurse before she released us.

I forgot to mention that because I was in denial that I was going to have Eva a little early I was NOT PREPARED!!!! I didn't have the car seat purchased yet. Matt is SUCH a trooper....I sent him to Babies R Us and he had to pick out the car seat and stroller, buy the outfit she came home in! I think he did a pretty great job! He didn't even notice that the little shirt he picked out said "I Love Daddy!" CUTE!!! Thanks Matt!

Not your normal Halloween night...

I don't think I mentioned how smoothly everything went with the kids when I went into labor. Liz (my awesome next door neighbor) came over in the morning and took care of the kids. Then my awesome friend Beckie came and got Luke and Emma and took them to Luke's baseball game. Meanwhile I texted my family to tell them I was in labor. I got a reply immediately from my awesome little sister that she and her family were actually IN ORLANDO for the day going to Disney with her sister-in-law! So again being the awesome sister and brother-in-law that they are, they rearranged their plans (ie. playing piano and helping with their primary program practice the next day) and they stayed the night at my house and watched the kids all day Sunday! What a relief! AND she cleaned and had my house all put together when I came home!!!!!! THANKS KIM!

Anyway, leading up to Halloween I had been dreading the fact that Halloween was on Sunday! In Utah it's a no brainer and everyone just trick-or-treats on Saturday night! Well here they might think I lost my mind and they wouldn't be prepared for trick-or-treaters. So I told my kids this year was going to be different and that the ward party on Friday night and the neighborhood party on Saturday was their Halloween. (Thus the nice part of me being the neighborhood party planner ;) I was soooo impressed because the kids didn't even complain ONE BIT! True they had a great distraction having little Eva make her arrival :) So instead Matt had bought "How to Train a Dragon" and we watched it together in my hospital room. It's kind of our tradition. When Emma was born Luke came and watched tv in my room, and when Gavin was born we watched Bambi in my room. It was a fun and VERY different Halloween!

Annual Neighborhood Halloween Party

I almost cried when Matt came to the hospital with this picture...

How sweet and thoughtful is this????? Liz had everyone holding a little Happy Birthday Eva sign. I love my neighborhood, but most especially my awesome friend LIZ!

Eva meet Luke, Emma, and Gavin

It was soooooo fun to watch the kids come in and meet Eva for the first time! There was so much going on that day that they had to wait until about 6:30 to finally meet her. They had to go to Luke's baseball game, and the neighborhood party and so when they finally came they were anxious to hold and love her!

It was so cute because Luke's little baseball team were all excited about Eva and every good play they made they dedicated to her. If one of them got a good hit they would yell out "For Eva!" When they got someone out they would yell "For Eva!" And then at the end of the game they all ran to the pitcher's mound and started yelling "For Eva!" altogether! How cute is that????

Liz told me that first thing in the morning Emma got up and was making cards and notes for Eva, although at the time she didn't know her name yet, so here is her poster she made her:

They came running into my hospital room with this beautiful flower arrangement and were very excited to give it to Eva.

This pretty one is from my family! Thanks FAM!

I loved how the kids sat and examined Eva. Luke won the rock-paper-scissors war in the car so he got to hold her first.

Nothing better then having my cute little family in the room with me...but when they started to get hyper and starting putting on her little hat then it was time for them to leave and me to rest :)

Yes even Matt joined in on the fun...(I'm sure he is going to kill me when he sees this cute picture of him on the blog :)
