Today Luke got to go to the Kennedy Space Center for his field trip and Matt went along as a chaperon. I am so glad that it worked out that he was able to go and I know Luke was VERY glad. So here are Luke's words about the field trip:
First I got to go on the shuttle experience, which is ride where you get to feel what it is like to be on a real shuttle. It felt shaky. Then I got to watch Hubble 3D. This was cool because we got to see Orion's Belt and it was like a big nursery of stars. After that we got to see a real orbiter, then after that I got to touch a real moon rock. It felt like I was an astronaut. This was my favorite part of the day! We saw Endeavor on it's launch pad. There was one guy who went to the moon and he kicked moon dust up onto his suit and they still have his suit and it still has the moon dust on it! I thought that was awesome. We also learned about how orbiters launch. There was this one NASA lady that let us go to the education room and we learned about liquid nitrogen. She did an experiment where she put a leaf in the liquid nitrogen and it froze. then when she squeezed it it cracked into a bunch of pieces. She said that if we put our hand into the liquid nitrogen that this is what would happen to our hand.
It was a great day and I loved having my dad with me!

WOW,Luke! What a great field trip! We read about all these things in the newspaper or see it on TV but you got to actually see it! I love you writing - I'll bet your teacher loves how you write also!

Hey Luke, that is one of my favorite places to visit in Florida. Once when we were there we got to see them taking the shuttle to the launch pad. It was HUGE!!!! Fun stuff, hope your dad behaved himself!!!
Seriously, a field trip to the Kennedy Space Center???? That is awesome!! I love how you recorded this in Luke's words. I really need to do that more often!! That's awesome that Matt got to go along. My kids love it when DJ can attend their school stuff!
So glad Luke's daddy was able to be a part of such a memorable trip. We still remember how much we loved the Kennedy Space Center years ago when we visited. Luke will praise you someday that you have him record these experiences in his own words. Sounds like he was VERY impressed!
SO cool that you had him record it in his own words. So cool that Matt was with him. SOOOOOOOO cool that he had a regular old school field trip to.....KENNEDY SPACE CENTER!!! I mean, seriously? So amazing.
I'm sad they're cancelling the space program -- what a neat thing for kids like Luke to aspire to and be inspired by.
