Pregnancy....

Wow...I could write a book about all the funny things people have said to me! Let's see, here is a small list and I will add to it each DAY when there are new ones...because believe me I hear a new one on a daily basis!

  • Are you expecting twins?
  • I hope for your sake you are due soon
  • How big are your babies usually? After I respond and tell her around 7 or 8 lbs. she replies "Are you sure this ones not that big already?" (AND that was about a month and a half ago!)
  • What a difference a week makes!
  • Holy cow you got BIG this week!
  • My cute little neighbor Luke, who is 6 years old: "Your belly sure is big!"
  • The cutest little 3 year old at church was checking out my belly and when she saw my protruding belly button she said "Hey the baby is pointing a finger at me!"
  • Are you sure there is just one in there?
  • When I still had 5 weeks left I found myself lying to the local grocery bagger because I didn't want to hear his comments....so after I lied and said 3 weeks left instead of 5 he said "Ya or a big bump in the road it looks like!"
  • And then I had one of my cute YW take a picture of my belly to show her dance instructor, who is BARELY showing, so she could show her what she has to look forward to (or how much worse off she could be)! I don't even think she got my head in the shot, just belly.
  • After showing my YW a picture of me the day I delivered Gavin they said "Wow you are definitely bigger NOW!
  • Gavin: "Mommy you're fat!"
  • Gavin (while watching Mario Brothers) "Hey mom you are as fat as Mario!"

So from these comments you can tell I am quite large. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO it didn't help my self esteem AT ALL today as I was changing the sheets on Luke's bunk bed, standing on the bottom rung of the ladder and SNAP! The wood on the bottom rung snapped in HALF! Yes I couldn't wait to hear Luke and Emma's reaction when I told them. They get a kick out of it when they say something to me and I reply "Hey is that a fat joke?" :) So you know you're fat when you break a bunk bed ladder! :)

From these posted pics, I'm sorry, I just don't see that you are that big! You look beautiful! Is that Amy's beautiful work?

Thankfully, all the nausea, bulging belly button, heartburn, etc. are totally worth it as you well know! Especially when you find out your kids think you're #1 Mom!!!! Oh, the rewards!!!!!

People DO amaze me, though! Glad you posted the funny things people have said...I'm sure I've never said such things, but let it be a lesson never to be guilty of it! You are a VERY good sport! Glad you had such a great day with Matt and kids and your friends.

I'm so excited for you to get your package! Let me know what you think (very honestly, please!) If it's not your thing, I'll keep it and we'll find one you like!

Sara, I think you are beautiful. And as I told you, who cares how big you get, you lose it and look fantastic after. I'm sure I've said some dumb things before, so I will repent!!!! Can't wait to see you, we are so very excited.

And no, that's not a fat joke! :)

Sara, you look great! I remember being 2 weeks out from having Broc when Kevin & Alisa moved and Kevin couldn't get the trailer on the hitch. So he asked ME to stand on the back of the trailer to lift it high enough to get the truck hitch under. Needless to say, it worked, but that was quite a blow to the gut. As the penguins from Madagascar say "Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave."

You are beautiful Sara! Amy did a great job! I think my favorite of you is the top one in black and white picture. Gorgeous!

Sara,
You are STUNNING!!! I wish I had the excuse of pregnancy for the extra 30 I insist on carrying around. Maybe I need some of your blunt/ridiculous acquaintances to shame me into losing it. I'm sure fat jokes aimed in my direction would be sufficient motivation!

Anyway, you look awesome... honestly you don't look like you've grown a bit since you were here in July. Way to go, babe!

I agree with Aunt Wendy! Those are such beautiful pregnancy pictures and you don't look big at all in them! Seriously, some people are just insane. The things they say I swear! After going through my own pregnancy and realizing how annoying it is to hear a million comments about your big belly, I've vowed to never say anything to any pregnant woman about their belly. Everyone should do the same! haha.
