Class Parties

I was really wanting to help with Luke and Emma's class parties but I really didn't want to bug friends and make them watch my kids AND I was a little hesitant to leave Eva. I was going to try one friend but found out she was having surgery the same day and then my other friend had finals to study for and I didn't want to bug her. I was even trying to get Matt to stay home from work to watch Gavin and Eva but he was too busy. The night before the parties I got a call from my good friend Suzanne Whetman. She said she wanted to do something for me...she asked if I needed help shopping, cleaning, anything. It was like she was inspired to call because I had been fretting! I really hate asking people to do things and usually if people (aka visiting teachers) ask "if they can do anything for me" I just say no. This time I got all excited and asked Suzanne to watch Eva and Gavin. What a dear friend to call me up out of the blue and ask if they could help! It worked out great and Eva was an angel!

I think Luke and Emma were really excited to have me there. Their parties were at the exact same time and so I started out with Luke's. He didn't seem to care if I was there and he kept bee bopping around from room to room and so I decided he didn't need me and I told him I was going to Emma's for a little while. I went to her room and they needed me. At one station they were decorating cookies and one little girl had about 3 inches of frosting on her cookie. I decided to stay a while in her room. When I finally returned to Luke's room he came running up to me and said "MOM you were gone like an HOUR! I was about to ask Ms. Molina if I could go find you!" So he really DID want me there :) He begged me to stay and eat lunch with his class (they were having pizza). What a fun day to be with my two big kids.

Fun, fun day and what a great memory for both kids! Nothing is better than having your kids WANT you to be there!

It is so rewarding to find out your kids really DO want you to be with them and a part of their activities! Rewards of good parenting! Such fun for all!
