We have definitely missed being out West this time of year! The 4th of July didn't feel the same. I think this is the first time since we've been married that we have been here for the 4th of July. So just know that we missed you all and can't wait until we can finally come out in 2 weeks! (Lori and John please forgive us for missing the party....we missed you!)
Emma started with a fever on Thursday night and so we have laid low for about 5 days! None of the kids have ever had a fever for so long and so I was starting to get really worried! Thursday night it started, Friday night it got up to about 103.6, and she was on Tylenol or Motrin every 4 hours until Tuesday! She looked like she was on her death bed until the medicine would kick in and then she would say she was all better (in a very pathetic and sad nasally voice). Let's just say it was actually a little nice to cuddle her and watch movie after movie. Usually she doesn't hold still for that long! :)
Thank goodness that Emma was better by Tuesday because we got a hotel room Tuesday night thru Wednesday and it was a BLAST!!!!!! We stayed at a new Marriott here in Orlando and it was awesome. The kids and I went on Tuesday afternoon because we wanted to get out money's worth and knew that Matt wouldn't be able to get out of work for quite a while. The hotel had the greatest pool, or pools, that I have ever been to! There were about 5 different pools all connected by a lazy river that had little waterfalls and tunnels. We got some tubes and floated around and lounged around the pool the whole time. At 9:00 Tuesday night they had a fireworks show that they shot from the golf course which was RIGHT outside our room. We were on the 12th floor, I never realized what a phobia Matt has of heights. He was so nervous to have us out on the balcony :). We were at dinner and had to run up to our room to watch the fireworks. Matt stayed to pay the bill and I ran with the kids. Emma starts to FREAK out and scream that she doesn't want to see the fireworks. So I told her to stay in the bathroom while we watched. Matt finally got to the room and came out to watch with us. After a few minutes I decided to check on Emma in the bathroom. I walk into the bathroom and Emma was gone!!!!! I immediately panicked! Then I came out of the bathroom and heard her screaming! I opened the door to the hotel room and there is Emma SCREAMING her head off in the hallway! She kept yelling that she was going to go find daddy. (She didn't realize that he had already come back to the room). Due to my panic I let the room door shut without grabbing my key! So I was pounding on the door for about 10 minutes. Luke and Matt couldn't hear because of the loud fireworks! I hear I missed the best fireworks grande finale ever! :) After the fireworks Matt and Luke went back to the pool because it was open until 11:00. We had a hard time checking out on Wednesday afternoon. Luke and Emma want to move there :). Oh one more funny thing....Luke and Emma are so used to having our little step stool to wash their hands in the bathroom. I saw Emma go into the bathroom and she had been in there for a few minutes and so I decided to check on her. I walk in and she had taken matters into her own hands...she had both legs sprawled and was stepping in the cubby holes for hand towels so that she could reach the sink. I immediately grabbed the camera! It looked so funny! I attached a picture. Emma is Ms. Independent when she wants to be! :)
Then last night after we got back we went to my next door neighbors and swam and barbequed and watched all the fireworks around us. Luke was so proud because he was jumping into the deep end and swimming to the side. AND Gavin is now doing the army crawl! I can't believe how fast he is growing up!
