Time to dust off the old crutches

OK tonight I was simply looking for Luke's backpack in the van and went to jump out and my foot caught on the bottom of the captain's chair and I cut the back of my heel, like right at my Achilles tendon. Luke was with me and I didn't want him to get freaked out at the sight of blood so I calmly told him to go get dad. Long story short (like when I say long I mean 3 hours at the ER - thanks to my friend Beckie who came and stayed with the kids.) I had to get a tetanus shot and 10 stitches! Luckily I didn't cut the tendon. It was a pretty mean cut and I could see the actual tendon GROSS! They put my foot in a splint and I have to be on crutches for 2 days. Thank goodness Matt is staying home to help me tomorrow :) It was funny because my friend that teaches some of the classes at the gym was my nurse.

When I was being discharged from the hospital the nurse brought in papers that I could fill out for work release, etc. I asked her to put on them that I can't do laundry, change diapers, and definitely not cook dinner :)

Things look soooooo much more dramatic then they really are....all I have is a cut and here I am in the hospital in a wheel chair and now I have my leg wrapped and crutches! Oh the drama! Thank goodness this happened the day AFTER my triathlon and not the day BEFORE!

Yikes - you really need to make up a better story! Milk this injury for all it's worth. Not fun, hope you're back on two feet in a hurry.

I love the work release part...you're so silly! I am sorry you cut your foot...I read you wrote something about it on facebook (yes I have finally warmed up to Facebook), but haven't checked blogs til tonight. I am sorry if I am a bad friend...but let's try to think of it more as...I am a 'busy friend". I miss ya!
