I feel loved...

I think this was my best birthday ever!!!!! I was laying in bed in the morning and before anyone else said anything Emma came in and wished me a happy birthday and then rushed off to work on this BEAUTIFUL picture for me! So this was the first gift of the day!

Matt had to fly out in the after noon to go to Chicago and so he took the day off!!!! How lucky am I???? So I got to have his undivided attention all day long! So first I wanted him to go jogging with me (really I wanted him to experience running while pushing a jogging stroller filled with two children so he would be more impressed with me he he he....as I am writing this I am realizing I am always trying to give Matt these experiences to appreciate me ie. the post about putting Gavin on his back while he is mowing, the time I had to speak at church and I was just excited to get to be up on the stand while Matt had to try to deal with all 3 kids during sacrament meeting....hmmm....Matt really does show appreciation for all I do, in fact he is always SO gracious for all that I do for him....I guess I should stop trying to set him up :)
Anyway, after we got back we got all ready and then we decided to go out to lunch, since I couldn't have a birthday dinner because Matt would be gone. But I was feeling so bad that Luke wouldn't be with us because he was still at school. I was on the phone with my mom and she said, and I quote "you should go get him out of school...he's in FIRST grade". I decided my mother gave me permission, AND she IS a school teacher! So I hope that's not bad to get my kid out of school just to celebrate MY birthday :) If it is don't tell me so that I don't feel guilt :) So we got Luke and then had a fun lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.

See we wouldn't have this cute picture of Luke being crazy on my birthday if he were at school :)

The following pictures crack me up because this is how many times Matt tried to get a good picture of me with the kids.....First one Gavin is making some grumpy weird face..... and then there is always someone with arms up or looking away! :)

THEN we went to this new cupcake place called SWEET by Good Golly Miss Holly! Talk about AMAZING cupcakes!

We had enough time to walk around the Town Center before Matt had to get back to catch his flight. What a wonderful day!

Even my VERY busy R.S. President showered me with love!!! Aren't those the cutest flowers :)

Look at this cute edible arrangement that my good friend and neighbor Liz sent me! Talk about sweet!

This birthday was like none other...lately I have been on facebook, a site where you can connect with people from your past, so I had tons of old friends emailing me on facebook wishing me a happy birthday, and then I even had 2 old friends that I haven't talked to in forever call me! What a fun birthday to connect with so many friends! Thanks everyone for your calls and well wishings! I feel loved :)

Ahh, Hey Sara! Happy Birthday! I'm glad you had a great day. When you said Matt was going out of town and that you ate at CPK, it reminded me of a couple years ago when he was out of town and showed up early to surprise you while we were all out at CPK. That was so funny and sweet!
Love you, Lis

Crap!!! How did I forget your birthday?! I guess the same way I do EVERY YEAR!! And you'd think I would have checked my Facebook even!
I did love love love that on my birthday -- so many Facebook friends left messages and it was awesome.

Okay, and I totally have to agree with you -- I'm always trying to set Stanton up to see how it is to live my life. It would be a real joke, though, to try and do what he does every day. I guess we each have our roles, right?

Happy Birthday!!! I won't even pretend that I forgot, because I didn't even keep track it was your birthday, so sorry, but so glad you had a great day. You know I read about all the things you guys do with your fun little families and think, wow, I think I was a very boring Mom!!! Anyway looks like you had a fun day. And I totally agree with your Mom. If only I had learned that lesson a little sooner in life, not to sweat the small stuff so much. I spent alot of my young life worrying to much!!! (Sigh - Regrets) But thats water under the bridge, live and learn. Give the kids a big huge hug. Love ya Chris

Jewel...it was wonderful talking to you on your birthday. Your family is adorable as are you. And yes, you did the right thing by taking Luke out of school. Life is short...enjoy the small things. You deserve every good thing that comes to you. I always did say that you are the closest thing to perfection that I know.
We love you, Fidge

Hey Sar,

I remembered a few days ahead, and then of course I forgot....silly me! Sorry! I seriously was telling myself not to forget & I did anyway! It is my short term memory loss that I have been experiencing lately! I can't even remember if I put deodorant on or not!!! :) & that is not good in this hot humid heat!!! Well, it sounds like you had a great day with your sweet little family! We miss you guys! Let's get together ya, ya, ya! Call me!
