Can I be your kitty?

I had such a funny conversation with Emma today...it went like this:

Emma: Mom when you were 4 did you ever have anyone in your class that was mean to you?

Me: Yes Emma there was a boy named Chris that was kind of mean to me.

Emma: Was he mean because he didn't let you be his kitty?

Me: Yes (lie).

Emma: Oh that's like Amber in my class. But then later did he start being nice to you?

Me: Yes, but it took a while

Emma: Hey that's just like Amber, it took her a while to let me be her kitty but now she does! :)

OH I HOPE THAT IS THE ONLY MEAN THING THAT KIDS DO TO EMMA IN HER LIFE :)

I would love to see this kitty enactment! Don't you wish you could be a "fly on the wall" at school?
Love you!

Sara,

You are an amazing Mom! I wish that I could tell you it gets better, however it only gets worse. Aren't we lucky that we have the Mom and Dad we do and that their examples are incredible. I find myself using Mom's words often. Something about taking the high road. There are days I want to put a bubble around the house and just cuddle my kids!

Love and miss you!

Sara...I'm right there with you! I absolutely hate the thought that my kids are going to have to deal w/ other kids teasing or whatever. Your sister's comment about the "bubble around the house" is how I sometimes feel...yet although it was infrequent, I remember my "teasing days" as a young kid and all the character it built...and although it was tough, I know some of it's necessary in building the character kids need in their lives....yet observing as a parent STINKS!!!
