Happy Birthday and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year EVERYONE!!!! It is so fun to have Gavin's birthday on New Year's Day because not only is New Year's Eve a fun party, but then we have a great party day on New Year's Day! New Year's Eve we had a great time with friends at a "Murder Mystery" party...I was Becky and Matt was Bobby. We were undercover agents pretending to be married...our cover story was that I owned a flower shop and Matt was an air conditioning tech. No we didn't kill anyone and we didn't figure out who did it either, but it was still a blast. We got home in time to ring in the new year at home...let's see I think I was laying with Emma trying to get her to sleep and Matt was watching t.v. He came in at 12:15 and said Happy New Year. Aren't we exciting in our old age :)

I can't believe Gavin is 2!!! Wow how time flies. We kind of hung out and let the kids play during the day and then we opened Gavin's presents, ate dinner, had cake and ice cream and then went to the movie Bolt. It is ADORABLE! I loved it and laughed hard many times. Too bad Gavin didn't love it as much as we all did....he couldn't sit still! At one point I found him army crawling across the floor below our feet (and we all know how clean the movie theater floors are!!!!! GROSS!) Then he came up to me and whispered "Mom, let's go"....hmmmm, I guess we had a better time at his birthday bash then he did :)

Luke was so proud of this little robot dog that he picked out for Gavin (can you tell by the look on his face :)

Gavin is still trying to get used to his new bike...it is a little frustrating for him to learn to pedal but I'm sure before long he will be zooming up and down the side walk

Emma helped me make his cake

He blew out his candle on the first try! :)

Okay, you all need to quit growing up! The only one who looks younger is your Mom! Happy Birthday Gavin! You look so big. We love and miss you! We are so glad you had a great Christmas.

Love,

The Reids

I love that picture of Luke & Gavin -- Luke looks so old! I love when they pick something out special -- it really makes a difference, doesn't it.

Stanton saw Gavin and said, "Jul, I don't even know him -- he's completely changed from the last time we saw him." It's true. He's really growing up! Happy Birthday, buddy!

Thanks for posting the pictures of Gav's birthday! Somehow we still feel a little connected when we see snatches of the celebration! He is such an adorable little guy!
Love you all!

Yae! I promise Gavin will LOVE his Birthday. There's something so great about starting a new year, with a fresh new age. It is like a whole new start. I know I am 12/31 but close enough. I do remember not liking it in 1st grade because I didn't get to wear the Birthday crown for the day, as school was always out. Anyway, thanks for coming to my Birthday lunch, that made my day...loved it! You are such a wonderful friend! =)
