Tonight for Family Home Evening we went out and got our Christmas tree! I get so giddy this time of year and enjoy every part of the season! It was fun to have the kids so excited to decorate too, and it was also fun to have Luke and Emma at ages where they were somewhat helpful :) Poor little Emma accidentally broke one of the ornaments as it slipped through her fingers, I was so proud that I calmly comforted her right away instead of instantly criticizing her for it. One little ornament isn't worth breaking a little girls heart....this is a big step for me :) We had the Christmas music playing and the Christmas spirit had us all at ease! I LOVE CHRISTMAS! Now I can't wait for the Christmas lights on the outside of the house to go up! (hint hint Matt :)

I think Thanksiving came later than normal this year...so that is my excuse for not having any Christmas stuff up yet...but the kids are way anxious! I don't blaime 'em. I remember being excited for Christmas like 5 months early when I was a kid! That is really great about not instantly criticizing Emma about the ornament....I am really bad about that kinda stuff sometimes and when I regret it....it is always later at night when the kids are in bed...and I am reflecting on my day and I can't wake them up to apologize or whatever...and the 'damage' is already done. =( Yikes, who knew parenting would be so complicated!
